This role is on the Immune Pathway Discovery (IPD) team which is part of Immunology Discovery in the Immunology Therapeutic Area. We are seeking an innovative and motivated computational biologist to join our IPD team. In this role, you will integrate high-dimensional molecular omics datasets, including scRNAseq and spatial, to unravel cell-cell communication to identify new targets, build disease rationales, predict effective combination regimens and identify patient stratification approaches. IPD supports discovery projects from idea, through preclinical testing and up to the transition to clinical trials. We partner closely with biologists to formulate questions, interpret results and apply the insights we generate to influence the strategic direction of the program.

The successful candidate should have a strong technical background in bioinformatics and established track record of using computational approaches to answer biological questions. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of this role, a mix of outstanding technical, collaboration and communication skills will be critical.

This role offers a dynamic environment where cutting-edge omics data converge with innovative computational strategies to push the frontiers of Immunology Discovery. If you're driven by a passion for scientific discovery and thrive in collaborative, problem-solving environments, we encourage you to apply!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research to investigate immune-mediated diseases using spatial transcriptomics and single-cell RNA sequencing technologies.
  • Integrate large-scale datasets to model the cellular interactions and mechanisms underlying immune responses and disease progression.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and validate novel hypotheses concerning immune interactions in health and disease.
  • Disseminate research findings through publications, presentations, and conferences.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Immunology, or a related field
  • Proven experience with integrating and analyzing high-dimensional omics datasets, especially single-cell and spatial transcriptomics
  • Strong understanding of network analysis, systems biology, or related computational methodologies
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R or Python
  • Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with immunological concepts and disease biology
  • Experience with machine learning and AI approaches applied to biological data analysis
  • Prior experience in developing computational tools or pipelines
  • Record of published research in computational biology or immunology-related journals
