GZA is seeking a Geotechnical Senior Project Manager to join our multidisciplinary team in New York, New York. The successful candidate will execute geotechnical engineering projects with limited guidance and supervision from a company principal. The candidate should be self-motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, quality-focused, safety-minded, and able to multi-task. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Manage project team, delegate to staff and execute project tasks
  • Monitor project performance, including contractual and financial issues
  • Provide business development support and assistance
  • Prepare proposals, geotechnical reports, and other documents
  • Mentor and train junior staff
  • Participate in client and stakeholder meetings
  • Other related duties as assigned


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
  • P.E. licensure in New York (or ability to obtain reciprocity upon hire)
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Aptitude to work in teams and independently
  • Experience with geotechnical subsurface explorations and reports
  • Experience with deep foundation design and/or excavation support design
  • Familiarity with typical geotechnical engineering computer applications
  • Access to vehicle transportation and a New York driver’s license


The base salary for this position may range between $125,000 and $155,000. The actual base salary and total compensation will depend on many factors, including bonus eligibility, candidate experience, education, professional licensure, and other qualifications.
