Compliance Risk Programs Specialist or Manager - Flood Disaster Protection Act (Hybrid)

Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the compliance management program framework for the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA) to ensure proper program management.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Supports the implementation and maintenance of the bank's flood compliance management program for control exams, self-testing, issue management, third-party risk management, and strengthening the control environment. 

• Responsibilities Include: Facilitating and managing the flood working group; Regulatory change management; Oversight / monitoring of third-party vendors; Ensuring timely remediation of open flood issues; Ensuing timely implementation of third-party ticket requests, inclusive of pre-and post-production testing; Partnering with the First Line to enhance flood self-testing procedures, workpapers, and practices; Partnering with the Second Line to complete self-testing validations; Identifying and documenting flood operational and compliance key controls; Development of comprehensive strategies to mitigate flood operational and compliance risks; Providing periodic updates to various committees.

• Monitors, reports, and escalates key risk indicators (KRI)s and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)s for the flood compliance management program. Supports the risk management framework that maintains risk levels within the institutions risk appetite.
• Provides compliance expertise to assist product, program, and system development. Liaises with first line of defense process groups and second line of defense risk management peers as the compliance framework expert to assess the impact of required changes to policy, procedures, and self-testing across business process groups and compliance.
• Communicates compliance risk management requirements, guidance, and industry standards to key first and second line of defense stakeholders. Completes all service level agreements (SLAs) within expected timeframes. 
• Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Minimum Experience:

• Four (4) years experience in compliance, risk management roles including at least three (3) years of experience with Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA) program management. Demonstrated experience with regulatory requirements, compliance framework, practices, and governance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Knowledge and understanding of consumer regulations.
• Strong analytical skills to understand data entries to various systems, data file exchange, and system programming.
• Strong project management experience.
• Analytical skills to identify root causes of deficiencies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members as well as members of the business units
• Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple projects.
• Works well with other peers in a collaborative environment, with a willingness to shift priorities and resources on risk-based needs.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
