Our work with the Dept of Veteran Affairs delivers clinical care to Veterans by managing the logistics and flow of supplies and equipment. Supply Chain Management (SCM) ensures that the right equipment and supplies are available when needed, and the Supply Chain Management Product Line (SCM PL) encompasses the activities to procure resources, manage supplies, and deliver goods and services to providers and patients. 

What is the position? 

Cognosante is seeking a Software Development Engineer with diverse experience in software development projects. The Software Development Engineer serves as a key member of the software development team within an Agile Release Team. Responsibilities include writing code to address specified requirements within user stories, participation in daily scrum meetings, testing code, recommendations for improved code sets, grooming sprint backlog, determining next development cycle from sprint backlog. This is a remote role.

 
What will I get to do?  

Develop, deploy, and support source code for UX and back-end cloud-based solutions within an Agile Release Team.  

What qualifications do I need? 

• 8 years of coding experience
• Recent experience with JavaScript, Java, C#, JQuery and Web application development experience
• Experience with open-source technology technologies in a high-volume distributed environment
• Experience in working CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Tekton)
• Experience working with DevSecOps (building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines)
• Understanding and experience with industry standard testing practices
• Must be a proactive self-starter, effective communicator, and team collaborator focused on accountability and quality results
• Experience working with the Federal Government.
• Must be able to achieve a moderate (Tier 2) VA position of trust

What additional characteristics will help me thrive?  

• Veteran’s Administration (VA) experience
• Experience packaging, administering and deploying code in a VA environment including VistA administration and software development and deployment
• Active clearance for Public Trust Position
• Azure/AWS application development/deployment experience, cloud certification preferred.
• JavaScript/.NET/HTML and MS SQL.
• HealthShare Health Connect HL7 Interface Specialist Certification 
• InterSystems IRIS Core Solutions Developer Specialist Certification
• API and integration development, using frameworks and technologies such as Quarkus/Springboot
• Experience working with cloud-native containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift)

• Experience working with RedHat Apache Kafka
• Experience working with InterSystems IRIS for Health

Compensation

$113,927.72 - $187,981.83

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees.
