Collins Aerospace is looking for a Principal Procurement Specialist to support our Government Interiors Seating direct product component and sub-assembly sourcing in Colorado Springs, CO. As a Government Supply Chain and commodity management lead, you will work closely with the commodity manager(s) to set overall strategy and execute that strategy for the component/sub-assembly commodities. This includes supplier contract negotiations, project management, preparing, organizing and sending out RFPs in support of Government pursuits, FARS and DFARS experience, Compliance Package generation and approval, executing work transitions between incumbent suppliers, gathering documentation, communicating clearly with suppliers, peers, leadership and other internal teams, organizing compliance requirements and executing final contract awards in support of government direct product requirements.
This is an onsite role in Colorado Springs, CO and is NOT eligible for relocation assistance.
What You Will Do
- Clearly communicate with Supply Chain Manager, internal customers, and suppliers
- Ability to prepare, negotiate, and work through RFPs with supplier partners
- Technical acumen and ability to understand drawing specification and related requirements
- Strong skill set using Excel, Access and other analytical methodologies
- Collaborates with multiple internal stakeholders to develop and execute Supply Chain commodity strategies
- Able to build strong relationships with suppliers
- Can organize documentation into format that can be used for compliance purposes
- Ability to review commodity market and make a fair and reasonable determination
- Works with limited oversight from leadership
- Manages and prioritizes several projects at one time and clearly communicates project status to leadership
- Negotiate through execution supplier contracts and agreements in support of awarded business
- Analyzes data and information to determine reasonable prices with commodity manager assistance
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, as required
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Supply Chain or Business Degree preferred
- Experience with wide range of commodities, manufacturing technologies and components from machined, mechanical fabrications, welding, soft goods, leather, fabric, cushions, foam, plastics, composites, engineered items such as restraints
- Government purchasing and/or sourcing experience based on varying government requirements and regulations
- Strong awareness and familiarity of Government Supply Chain practices and Government Commodity Management sourcing practices
- Strong experience with Excel including macros, pivot tables etc. and some Access database and analytics methods experience preferred
- Supply Chain professional certification(s) such as CPIM, CSCP, CPSM
- Experience with SAP as primary ERP/MRP system
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Kinaxis, Microsoft Office Suite
