The Impact and Responsibilities: As an Associate Director, you will analyze a portfolio of assigned entities as well as complex situations, data and information, and assess issuers’ quarterly and annual operating results against our financial projections. This position is responsible for meeting with issuers and investors on analytical matters, assisting in resolving client needs, contributing to media and other investor inquiries, and taking the lead at external meetings related to credits, as assigned by a more senior manager. The role also requires the ability to consider multiple possible courses of action, make well-supported recommendations, and influence buy-in based on analysis.
Specifically, in this role, the analyst will;
Act as the primary analyst for complex entities and be an active vocal voting member of the committee who makes recommendations to the rating committee and prepares materials for ratings publication, while being recognized as an expert who frequently advises others on complex analytical matters.
Develop forecasts and recommend ratings for issuers and debt issues consistent with existing S&P criteria; learn and apply S&P internal systems and effectively communicate S&P’s methodology and procedures to clients; and operate with a high degree of autonomy and limited day-to-day direction.
Aid in identifying market trends and relevant market interrelationships that may affect credit quality and rating outcomes.
Write analytical reports, contribute to thought leadership pieces and synthesize analysis into well-reasoned and well-supported rating recommendations that demonstrate a strong understanding of financial markets and the relationship to S&P products; apply analytical results to improve functional operations and overall team effectiveness.
Work effectively with markets and jurisdictions outside of primary focus in a team-oriented, multi-cultural and global environment; and work closely with other teams within the business area to deliver effectively and build trust through collaboration.
Ensure a risk aware culture including leading by example.

Your analysis and work is essential to the covering of a diverse portfolio of credits, as well as in the training of others to help them resolve difficult day-to-day analytical issues and problems; this role is also expected to support the growth and development of others through guidance, coaching, and expert advice.
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
Compensation/Benefits Information (only applicable to U.S. candidates): The anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 USD to $192,000 USD. The final base salary will depend on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with broad knowledge of corporate credit and its interrelationships in the market.
