About the role

Senior Low Observables (LO) RCS Analyst

Company:

The Boeing Company

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works organization in St. Louis, Missouri is seeking a Senior Low Observables (LO) RCS Analyst to provide technical leadership in radar cross section (RCS) modeling, simulation, data analysis, and LO design support across advanced development programs.

The selected candidate will apply expertise in low observables materials, electromagnetic (EM) principles, and computational electromagnetic (CEM) methods to support requirements development, design trades, performance prediction, test, and validation activities. This position requires practical experience with LO system design and a strong technical foundation in RCS reduction, signature management, and EM interaction with aerospace structures and materials.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute design, analysis, and integration efforts for LO components, assemblies, and platform-level applications

  • Work directly with junior analysts to review models, validate assumptions, interpret results, and guide RCS modeling, simulation, and LO analysis tasks

  • Develop and apply CEM-based models to predict RCS, scattering behavior, and signature performance across relevant frequency bands

  • Perform iterative LO design optimization to satisfy signature requirements, constraints, and system performance objectives

  • Evaluate the electromagnetic effects of materials, geometry, interfaces, apertures, and structural features on signature control

  • Plan and execute laboratory and range-based test activities to verify LO performance and correlate measured data with analytical predictions

  • Support development of test methodologies, validation plans, and correlation studies for simulation-to-measurement agreement

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure LO solutions are compatible with performance, manufacturability, maintainability, and integration requirements

  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, design documentation, and briefing materials for internal stakeholders and customer reviews

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 9+ of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with low observable materials and technologies

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Working knowledge of electromagnetic theory as it applies to RCS reduction and signature control

  • Experience using computational electromagnetic (CEM) tools such as SENTRI, XPATCH, CARLOS, HFSS, FEKO, or equivalent for LO analysis and design optimization

  • Experience with full-platform RCS prediction and analysis workflows

  • Experience correlating CEM predictions with laboratory and range measurement data

  • Experience with advanced propulsion concepts and associated LO integration challenges

  • Familiarity with LO materials processing, application methods, durability considerations, and repair/maintenance impacts

  • Experience preparing CAD models for electromagnetic simulation and analysis

  • Strong technical communication skills, including formal reports, presentations, and customer-facing briefings

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering environments and manage multiple concurrent technical tasks to schedule

Conflict of Interest:

Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
