Job Description
Children's BMH Outpatient Clinic treats children from ages 2 through 21 years for a broad range of conditions, including anxiety, mood disorders, disruptive behaviors, trauma, and somatic conditions. Many of our patients are referred from pediatric specialty clinics and have underlying health concerns. BMH Therapists within our outpatient clinic primarily provide evidence based individual therapy. Some opportunities for group therapy may be available. BMH Therapists work closely with child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, psychologists, and social workers to develop and implement a comprehensive treatment plan for each patient. Appointments will be a mixture of in-person and telehealth. The ideal candidate would have strong problem-solving skills and interest in collaborating with teams to help innovate and improve mental health care access for a diverse population of patients. Candidates should have experience in providing evidence-based treatment therapy using one or more of the following modalities Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and/or Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Experience
- 3 years supervised experience with providing intake evaluations and regularly scheduled therapy services for children and adolescents within a medical setting or behavioral mental health facility
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Unified protocol, CBT, ACT, DBT, TF-CBT, PCIT, and/or Solution-Focused Therapy
- Experience with children & adolescents with co-occurring medical issues
Education
- Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, or marriage and family therapy from an accredited university
Certification Summary
- An unrestricted license in the state of Georgia (LCSW, LMFT, LPC)
- **For Children’s at Hughes Spalding, LCSW certification is required
