What you bring to the table
Beck is looking for a qualified Senior Project Manager to join an extraordinary project team. While this is an individual role, you will be involved in many facets of construction with the ability to evolve our existing operations. As the Senior Project Manager, you are primarily responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a project, overseeing all project financials, schedule, risk management, quality, and client relationships and needs. You also supervise the work and development of the project team to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc. You will be designated the lead Project Manager over multiple projects simultaneously or over large projects, integrated projects, or projects of a very complex nature ranging from $50 million to $150 million in scope.
The position involves the following essential functions:
- Provide complete oversight of on-site construction, with added focus on constructability and with a strong emphasis on technical execution and engineering integration, while supervising and directing a team of 5+.
- Lead Beck's interface with the client by establishing and maintaining trust while delivering technically sound, high-performing projects that exceed expectations at every stage.
- Participate heavily in preconstruction efforts, including constructability reviews, assembling bid packages, directing pre-bid meetings, detailed analysis of bids, buy-out, and contract administration.
- Manage and oversee the review of proposed changes from the Owner or Architect, ensuring engineering accuracy, while developing Change Orders by soliciting and thoroughly analyzing subcontractor proposals for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness.
- Oversee project schedules (primarily managed by superintendents) while ensuring engineering milestones and dependencies are properly sequenced and achieved in compliance with Beck’s scheduling policy.
- Identify and lead cost savings opportunities through value engineering, systems optimization, and constructability innovation.
- Develop and maintain accurate general conditions and general requirements budgets, including technical contingencies.
- Actively negotiate disputes and resolve technical or scope disagreements with Owners, Architects, Engineers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure construction, engineering coordination, subcontracts, and purchase orders strictly align with Contract Documents.
- Understand what constitutes a breach of contract or subcontract, particularly as it relates to engineering scope, and the steps required for enforcement.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, design partners, and trade contractors to secure $25M+ in new project opportunities annually.

Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing vertical commercial construction projects valued up to $100M+ with significant structural, MEP, and systems complexity.
- 15+ years of relevant commercial construction/engineering management experience.
