We are seeking a Project Engineer in our Power Group to join our expanding multi-disciplinary team in the Lehigh Valley, PA; Wilkes Barre, PA; or Philadelphia, PA locations. This role is ideal for a motivated civil engineer who enjoys supporting power utility sector projects, including work for electric utility clients such as PPL and similar providers, while solving complex site development, utility coordination, access, permitting, and infrastructure challenges from concept through construction.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform civil engineering design and technical analysis for a variety of power utility and land development projects, including electric utility facilities, substations, transmission and distribution support sites, access roads, commercial, industrial, institutional, residential, mixed-use, and energy developments

  • Prepare and review site development plans, grading plans, utility plans, access plans, and construction documents for utility-focused infrastructure projects

  • Design and analyze stormwater management systems, drainage and conveyance, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control measures, site grading and earthwork, roadway and access improvements, and utility infrastructure systems

  • Support coordination with power utility clients and stakeholders on site access, constructability, right-of-way, permitting, and utility infrastructure needs

  • Coordinate permitting efforts and prepare applications for municipal, county, and state review agencies

  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and project delivery activities

  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams

  • Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed

  • Assist with proposal preparation, technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation

  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff while continuing professional development

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

  • 4-8 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on power utility, land development, site design, or related infrastructure projects

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in progress

  • Experience preparing land development, utility site, access, and permit applications; experience supporting electric utility clients such as PPL is a plus

  • Proven successful experience in site layout and design, stormwater management, grading and drainage design, utility infrastructure, erosion and sediment control

  • Knowledge of local and state permitting processes

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software is a plus

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing effectively to project teams

Salary Range:

The starting salary for this position is $89,000, with final compensation determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and licensing status.
