Clinical Care Operations [CCO] is the hub of patient management for the campus, providing relief staffing to clinical departments/units, bed assignment, unit staffing, house supervision, and emergency preparedness. Several employee groups report to CCO, including clinical positions such as RN House Supervisors, SWAT RNs, and the Resource Team (RN, CNA/PCA, HUC, and BHT), plus non-clinical roles (Transport, Dispatch, Placement Liaisons, and more). We support the whole hospital’s staffing needs so if any of the departments are short, we fill in there: Peds, WIS, Behavioral Health, ICU, NICU, ED etc. We also have some specialty areas that we may train people in. We support adult and pediatric populations, but mostly adult. We have 50 PCA’s in our department and spread out across the facility.

In your role as a Certified Patient Care Assistant (CNA) in our Clinical Care Operations - COO | Resource Teamt at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, you will help provide basic nursing assistance to patients. You will have the opportunity to provide care to patients throughout our facility (ICU, Progressive Care, Med Surg, PACU, Medical Imaging, ED, and more). Our CNA's are highly skilled, have the ability to be flexible, and are open to the many educational and growth opportunities provided. Our ideal candidate will have 1 year of acute care nursing assistant experience, current BLS (AHA) certification, and exhibit the 3 E's - Energy, Enthusiasm and Excitement! 

• Full -Time Days Shift & Full-Time Night Shifts Available (FT:3 -12 hour shifts)
• Days Shift Hours are 6am-6:30pm | Nights: 6:30pm - 6am You can utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage.
• There are no set days you can be scheduled each week.
• Weekend Rotations are required in this role. 2 Weekend shifts required each month
• Rotating Holidays Required - 1 major and 1 minor
• Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-Night Shift differential when applicable

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health, including assisting patients with basic hygiene needs, maintaining an optimum level of mobility and providing assistance with nutritional intake as needed.

2. Collects patient specimens and data, including vital signs, input/output and other delegated measurements in accordance with unit/facility policy and standards of care. Documents objective data and routine aspects of patient care. Assists in the transportation of patient specimens.

3. Recognizes and reports abnormalities and/or changes in the patient’s health status and responses to treatment to a licensed professional. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for which care is provided.

4. Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, consistent with demonstrated competencies and according to state scope of practice; procedures may include blood draws, foley catheters removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring. Provides necessary supplies, support and assistance to medical staff and patients for unit specific procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed professional.
