Senior Manager Fermentation Technology

Senior Manager Fermentation Technology directs activities of the Fermentation Technology department and leads the team in the development of innovative process technologies.  You will support the teams efforts in all facets of fermentation process engineering and technical support, drive continuous improvement by assisting manufacturing sites with troubleshooting, cost reduction and introduction of new products and process technologies. 

 

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a team providing engineering/technical support for three major functions Manufacturing Support, Process and Product Development and Project Management
• Plan and prioritize laboratory and pilot-scale experiments to evaluate new fermentation technologies, optimize existing technologies, new product development, quality and safety improvements, process troubleshooting, and provide technical and strategic direction for successful completion
• Collaborate with teams at other sites on scale up
• Troubleshoot process and quality issues in fermentation production facilities

You bring:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in food, beverage and/or chemical industry; along with a technical understanding of upstream operations involved with food processng required
• LSS Certification Greenbelt or higher preferred
• In-depth knowledge of fermentation processes and scale-up
• Experience directly managing a team
• Strong communicator and collaborator
• Master’s degree; degree in engineering preferred along with PhD preferred
