The Corporate Accountant is responsible for various accounting duties within our growing non-profit. Requirements include proven accounting experience, strong working knowledge of accounting regulations and practices. Here are some of the unique job duties that are a part of this position:
- Recording journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts for assigned companies
- Calculating and recording contractual allowances for healthcare entities
- Preparing audit schedules for assigned companies
- Managing cash
- Maintaining detailed record of receipts and expenditures of temporarily restricted gifts
- Serving as primary assistant to Senior Accountant for budget preparation and analysis
- Tracking service contracts for adult services and updating the contracts appropriately and on a timely basis
- Sorting, summarizing, manipulating, and analyzing large volumes of data using Microsoft Excel
- Assisting with a variety of projects within the department
Requirements
Education and Experience
A four-year degree in Business or Finance and a minimum of three years accounting experience with a variety of accounting responsibilities. Experience with non-profit and/or healthcare organizations is preferred but not required. Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skill is required.
