JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Area Manager/Production Manager, this position is responsible for organizing & managing all production related activities in the assigned production area.  The Production Supervisor conducts supervision over the production team members in implementing work processes, ensuring the production runs smoothly.  This position is also responsible for the team building, development of team leadership skills, and assessing & coaching Operations Leads and Team Members in optimizing resources in the most efficient manner consistent with standard work procedures, work instructions, quality standards, and safety parameters.  In addition, the Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring company policies are followed.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for achievement of the Production plan
• Participates in the drafting, auditing & updating of production process documents, operating standards & other related documentation.
• Responsible for coaching, training and developing team members to improve the flexibility and utilization of the team in the production area
• Plans, coordinates, and supervises the activities of team members to meet production schedules and to hold them accountable for their performance
• Drives hard conversations and leads individuals to ensure everyone is meeting the high expectations we have for their roles and also adhering to the Production Norms and Standards.
• Leads the team by applying continuous improvement tools to the production area.
• Investigates reports and communicates all accidents, injuries and/or illnesses and near misses.  Analyzes & systematically resolves the problem & prevents its recurrence
• Assure the correct execution of processes (Safety, Quality, etc)
• Assure a clear communication of priorities and tasks to their team
• Lead and communicate the correct escalation process/steps
• Achievement of established goals and KPI´s
• Collaborate with partner teams to identify problems and drive solutions. Such solutions need to be real-time and data-driven, whilst also ensuring long-term sustainable
• Leads the team in creating a safe working environment by organizing & holding monthly safety meetings for safety education, risk assessment, accident investigations & other related safety activities, increasing safety awareness
• Ability to clearly structure action plans and priorities in an ambiguous environment with numerous competing demands.
• Follow up and execution of our defined systems
• Performs carryover at the start and end of their assigned shift
• Manage Shift schedule from Start to end, meetings, priorities, leading support areas according to the area needs.
• Other duties as assigned by Production Manager

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience in related field.

 

EXPERIENCE:

• 2 or more years of leadership in a manufacturing environment

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of Problem Solving, Proven skill on driving problems solving based on at least one methodology such as A3, 8D’s, 5 Why’s
• Welding & bending basic processes (Desirable)
• Efficiency/Productivity (Labor Efficiency, OEE metrics knowledge)
• Basic SAP & Scrap reporting knowledge (preferred)
• Knowledge of behavioral based Safety practices
• Basic Quality System (ISO-IATF) (Experience managing Departments under these requirements)

• Lean Principles knowledge (Basic knowledge using them or being part of implementation Teams)
• Must possess knowledge to read, write, and perform basic math skills
• Must have the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram forms 
• Computer basics Software knowledge (Excel, PPT, Word)
• Conflict Management
• Capacity analysis
• Planning and organization
• Setting discipline by a positive Leadership
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality procedures

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Extensive standing, walking, upper body twisting, lifting, arm and hand motion, some foot motion
• Manual dexterity
• Manual movement of production material throughout manufacturing processes
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs required
• Vision abilities required include close vision
• Work environment is not climate controlled and subject to weather conditions which may be hot or cold
