The newly created Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations business unit is part of SAP Product Engineering with responsibility across the relevant Sovereign Cloud portfolio of SAP. Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations is collaborating closely with all Board areas to establish a harmonized, scalable, and consistent offering with transparent and standardized deliverables.  
 

YOUR FUTURE ROLE 

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (f/m/d) in the areas of Business Technology Platform - Foundation within the Technology & Engineering unit of the Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations team in the Platform Engineering board area. 

In this role, you will join the Sovereign Cloud Platform engineering team.  We build, harden, and operate the SAP Sovereign Cloud environments used as reference by the regional Operations teams.  You will be working closely with SAP product teams, technical product managers, developers, security experts, and regional operators.  You will be working on deployment automation, product operations/deployments, deployment documentation, as well as supporting SAP Sovereign Cloud regional operations teams. 

What you bring 

Due to the classified nature of our work, your willingness is required to subject yourself to a governmental security clearance process and thus have an EU, NATO or FIVE EYES country member nationality. Besides that you bring: 
 

• University degree in computer science, engineering or similar 
• Professional experience in Cloud Delivery related fields and technologies 
• Experience with technologies like Container Orchestration (Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), Monitoring and Logging (Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Kibana or Grafana) 
• Good knowledge of public cloud providers (AWS, GCP and Azure) and their product offerings 
  • Good Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash or Python 
• Good knowledge of Cloud infrastructure, architecture and design 
• Experience with Security like HashiCorp Vault 
• Fundamental SAP product knowledge – Public Cloud like BTP, Success Factors, and as well Private Cloud Products, 
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform and CI/CD pipelines e.g. Jenkins, CircleDI, DroneCI or ArgoCD as well as knowledge of Git (preferred) or SVN 

• Prior team or work stream lead experience 
• Experience in Cloud Native technologies such as Kubernetes (K8s), Docker and microservices is a big plus 
• Decision-making and can-do attitude 
• Methodological and conceptual skills paired with analytical thinking  
• Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams 
• Persistence, self-motivation and willingness to work under pressure 
• Fluency in written and spoken English

 

WORK EXPERIENCE 

• 5+ years of professional experience in Cloud Delivery related fields and technologies 
• 2+ years of Automation experience
