From executing menus for VIP clients to preparing gourmet dishes for first-class passengers, your ability to consistently deliver exquisite meals will set dnata Catering apart in the aviation catering industry. Additionally, as a Specialty Cook, you will be responsible for monitoring ingredient levels, ensuring proper storage, and adhering to food safety guidelines at all times. Your commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment will contribute to the overall efficiency and safety of our operations. By working collaboratively with the culinary team and following established procedures, you will help dnata Catering exceed customer expectations and deliver memorable dining experiences.

You Will

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Experience in producing high-volume, high-quality food from menus. 
  • Must have experience with various cooking duties – (grilling, preparing sauces, etc.) 
  • Operating a traditional indian cuisine cooking such items as meat and breads 
  • Preparing indian cuisine curries, sauces, and desserts as per standard and style set by the Head Chef(s)  
  • Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, burners/pans, and other cooking equipment  
  • Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of traditional indian cuisine including desserts.  
  • Ensure the correct preparation and presentation standard of the dishes is always maintained. 
  • Demonstrating tandoor techniques and cooking procedures to other staff if require 
  • Storing food in temperature-controlled freezers 
  • Checking on food supplies and advising the supervisor of any requirements 
  • Knowledge of HACCP/GMP is a plus, must comply with proper food handling policies and procedures. 

 

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned by unit Supervisors.

This salary range and is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package.

You Have

EDUCATION: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree three (2) years in (culinary) in culinary field or appropriate continuing education experience and relevant work experience.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in producing indian cuisine.
  • Flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a team.
  • Formal training in food, safety; regulatory compliance a plus
  • HACCP knowledge.
  • Excellent attention to detail and self-organized
  • Ability to deal with a heavy workload.
  • Ability to accurately monitor
  • Flexibility (different shifts - night, weekends, holidays).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Valid food handler's certificate or equivalent.
