Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant – 4-month contract

 

Issaquah, WA

Your Day-to-Day: 

• Prepare and record journal entries and accruals in accordance with US GAAP
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and research variances
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries
• Perform project accounting, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes as needed
• Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Perform project accounting activities such as cost tracking and revenue recognition
• Ensure compliance with internal control policies and accounting procedures
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
• Apply analytical thinking to evaluate financial results, troubleshoot discrepancies, and enhance reporting accuracy
• Utilize critical thinking to assess processes and propose practical, effective improvements

 

 

Who You Are: 

 

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: 

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years of general accounting experience preferred
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles

• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey concepts clearly to peers and management

• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics ERP system or similar enterprise financial systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically, interpret financial data, and offer insight into financial and operational issues
