About the role

We’re creating our own future. So are you!

At Volvo Cars, we have bold targets when it comes to innovation, sales and customer experience, and we’re developing new technologies to lead in safety, autonomous driving, and electrification. If you want to grow together with diverse people who are creating a new automotive future, we have a job for you.

Who we are

At Electrical Performance we focus on customer benefit throughout the service life of the car in respect to reliability, safety and cost-of-ownership related to the electrical system. We develop and benchmark requirements for electrical systems and components, and we also participate in international standardization working groups. We give technical support to function, system, and component owners during the development phase, and we verify, mainly at a complete vehicle level.

What you’ll do

As part of one of the agile teams within Electrical Performance, you will contribute to the customer experience of our attribute by explaining and motivating requirements, evaluating designs, review verification plans, feedback to the component owners and take part in the balancing process. You will be key to the long-term development of the attribute and requirements.

You are expected to be curious and interested to learn about other aspects regarding product development – although electrical performance is your area of expertise – and to always keep the end-customer’s benefit in focus.

Who you are

You have a M.Sc. in Electronics, Physics or similar and you must have at least 5 years, and recent experience in designing electronic hardware or electrical systems. You have a solid understanding of electronics and a solid analytical capacity. You want to broaden your scope but keep a detailed technical focus. Experience of analyzing electrical performance on component, system or complete vehicle is valuable.

Experience of car development is a merit, and you probably have a driving license. Knowledge about tools such as FMEA, 6s and root cause analysis is also a merit. You need to be fluent in English, both written and spoken. You are interested in taking part in our journey towards both new products and new ways of working!
