We are searching for the best talent for Senior Scientist, Proteogenomics to be in Spring House, PA.
Purpose: The Cell Engineering & Analytical Sciences group within biologics development is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Proteogenomic Scientist to join our research and development team. You will play a crucial role in understanding cellular pathways and networks for creating paradigm shift in the production cell line engineering, using data-driven systems biology approaches. We are a pioneering mass spectrometry laboratory, equipped with state-of-the-art instruments, robotic workbenches for sample automation and powerful bioinformatic software and cloud computing resources for data interpretation. We work in an exciting, interdisciplinary environment and collaborate with multi-functional teams, including biologics discovery, cell line development and cell culture process development. Your expertise in proteomics or proteogenomics will help drive the advancement of our biopharmaceutical pipeline and provide you with the opportunity to learn and grow through your interactions with experts in a wide variety of disciplines.
You will be responsible for:
- Develop and implement proteogenomic and data management strategies to support host cell engineering of complex biotherapeutic modalities. With the aim of optimizing protein expression levels, protein quality, and glycosylation patterns.
- Use biostatistics and bioinformatics algorithms to integrate Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data and biological databases with proteomics data for hypothesis generation.
- Develop and improve computational biology capabilities across proteomics and NGS and propose and implement innovative solutions for pathway engineering.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in proteomics, NGS and production cell engineering, develop new methods and publish in peer reviewed journals.
- Prepare and present scientific findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders, project teams, and senior management.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field is required. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience/skills:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience is required.
- Strong background and hands-on experience in proteomics or proteogenomic analysis, including sample preparation, mass spectrometry-based analysis, NGS sequencing and data analysis & visualization.
- Proficiency in mass spectrometry-based proteomics (especially expertise in timsTOF & Orbitrap Eclipse instrumentation) and associated software for data acquisition and analysis (e.g., MaxQuant, MSFragger, DIA-NN, R programming, Cytoscape).
- Proficiency in integrating NGS and proteomics data tracks and providing actionable insights to re-engineer cell-lines via proteogenomic data integration and visualization tools (e.g., Genome Browsers, Cytoscape).
- Understanding single cell proteomics (SCP) or direct hands-on experience with SCP.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively present
