Physical Therapist

Description

The Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients of all ages. These patients present with broad range impairments and functional limitations. The Physical Therapist is responsible to stay current and deliver evidence-informed treatments and objectively measure the outcomes of treatment. The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing quality patient care, assisting with in-servicing rehab staff, other medical center departments, and the community on wellness and rehabilitation topics.

Essential Duties:

Evaluate and provide physical therapy treatment to child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients based on evidence-informed best practice patterns in physical therapy. This includes performing appropriate documentation responsibilities.

• Stay current on physical therapy related practices, wellness and rehabilitation topics
• Deliver quality patient care
• Complete required charting & documentation responsibilities in a timely manner
• Maintain and foster relationships with referral sources and patients.

Direct, supervise, assess and communicate with Physical Therapist Assistants.

• Oversee work performed by Physical Therapist Assistants as outlined in the state statute 
• Partner with Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure completeness of PT plan of care (POC)
• Review charting activities and provide feedback

Other duties as assigned.

• Participate in inter-departmental, committee-based, and community educational outreach on topics related to wellness, sports performance, and physical rehabilitation
• Assist Manager of Rehab Services with program development in specific areas of practice

Requirements

Education and Licensure:

• Graduate of approved physical therapy school
• Licensed by the State of Wisconsin and/or Minnesota
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Specialist Board Certification preferred

Experience: Two plus years experience preferred

• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Solid judgement and decision making capabilities
• Strong time management skills
• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction and manage multiple demands and priorities
