As an Assistant Buyer Intern you will contribute to Wenger Corporation’s strategy to provide exceptional customer experience by supporting the Purchasing team with day-to-day buying activities, supplier coordination, and data management. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in procurement, vendor relations, and supply chain operations, offering exposure to the full purchasing cycle in a fast-paced business environment.
At a minimum, you’ll need:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced team environment.
Demonstrated interest in supply chain, procurement, or merchandising.
A typical day may include:
Assisting Buyers with placing purchase orders and following up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery including expedites.
Conducting market and vendor research to identify cost, quality, and availability trends.
Maintaining accurate purchasing records, including order tracking, pricing updates, and delivery schedules.
Helping monitor inventory levels and provide reporting to ensure stock availability.
Reviewing product samples, specifications, and vendor proposals for alignment with business needs.
Partnering with internal departments (e.g., Operations, Finance, and Inventory Control) to resolve order discrepancies.
Supporting the team with preparing reports, presentations, and analyses related to supplier performance and spend.
Participating in vendor meetings and negotiations as appropriate.
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Purchasing department.
You will be required to complete a ‘report out’ presentation at Wenger Corporation’s celebration / ‘graduation ceremony’ prior the conclusion of the internship.
