About the role

Kyowa Kirin is a fast growing global specialty pharmaceutical company that applies state-of-the-art biotechnologies to discover and deliver novel medicines in four areas of unmet need: oncology, nephrology, immunology and CNS/movement disorders. The North America organization includes two offices (in New Jersey and California) that focus on drug discovery, product development, and commercialization. An entry-level project engineer to assist Site Head in the design and start-up of a new manufacturing facility. The project engineer will work directly with the Site Head during all project phases and then transition to an operational role in the plant.

Key Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 

  • Assist Site Head in support of all aspects of the facility design, start up and commissioning.
  • Organize and help execute activities including meetings, schedules, reporting, cost tracking, and expediting.
  • Participate in design, construction and commissioning activities as directed by the Site Head.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Some experience working in a technical manufacturing environment is a plus but not required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Must be an avid learner and willing to do a variety of tasks.
  • Good organizational, planning and communication skills.  An avid learner.  Strong Team player. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Must be commutable to Cary, North Carolina. 
  • This role is on-site and is NOT a remote or hybrid assignment.   

Physical Demands:

  • Office work as well as work on a construction site and manufacturing site.
  • Working Conditions will vary greatly depending upon project phases and will involve hazardous areas (construction site) at times.
  • Requires local travel in the Greater Raleigh area
