Visiting Assistant Professor of Art - Drawing in an Expanded Field

The Amherst College Department of Art and the History of Art seeks an artist for a full-time three-year visiting appointment at the rank of visiting assistant professor, beginning on July 1, 2024, to teach courses in drawing, conceived as an experimental practice that includes traditional media as well as digital illustration and/or animation. We seek candidates who can teach drawing at all levels and are engaged in contemporary art discourse and interested in forging connections between drawing, critical practices and research methods. The position includes advising majors, supervising senior theses, and participating in other service work for the department.

The successful candidate must have an MFA or equivalent in hand by the start of the appointment.
