General Purpose of Job:
The Radiology Manager will assist the Administrative Director of Radiology in the development, coordination, implementation, and supervision of all Radiology Services. He or she will coordinate operations of licensed and ancillary personnel in the daily delivery of patient care in compliance with hospital and departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
The Radiology Manager will foster an environment of patient safety. He or she will assist the Administrative Director with maintaining departmental compliance with JCAHO, the Texas Department of Health and other licensing and accrediting bodies.
The Radiology Manger will facilitate the smooth and efficient patient flow throughout radiology by coordinating services with the various radiology modalities, nursing units, and other departments as appropriate. He or she may assume duties of the Administrative Director in his or her absence. The Radiology Manager will perform duties as a radiographer when needed and maintain clinical competency.
The Radiology Manager will perform other duties as deemed necessary.

- Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.

- Performs duties of radiographer II FC
- Maintains and oversees the day to day activities of Radiology, performs a variety of activities and duties to meet the routine and urgent needs of the department and communicates finding to Admin. Director and Radiologist as needed.
- Under the direction of the Adm. Director and in collaboration with the Radiologist, organizes, coordinates, and delegates licensed and ancillary personnel in the daily delivery of patient care in compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Communicates with medical staff, administration, Human Resources and other hospital and outside agencies to facilitate day to day operations in radiology.
- Makes recommendations for improving Radiology services and procedures when needed
- Assist in determining staffing requirements and patterns based on scope of service, complexity of patient care, and fiscal resources.
- Works closely in conjunction with PACS manager, HIM, Epic Personnel and IT to help maintain integrity of radiology imaging and medical record documentation
- Assists in tracking staff productivity, and recommends appropriate levels needed
- As delegated by the Admin. Director, may assist in monitoring of employee attendance policies
- Identifies personnel and performance problems, counsels employees and initiates disciplinary action in collaboration with Adm. Director as appropriate
- Interviews and assists in the selection of all new hires, coordinates orientation, training and successful completion of orientation process for all new employees. Works with Human Resources to assure all new employee requirements are met.
- Assists Adm. Director in assuring that technologist individual Goals are set and monitored and that Annual Performance Reviews as well as Clinical Competencies are completed satisfactorily.
- Works with Admin Director to provide balance between cost effectiveness and quality care.
- Intercedes when there are scheduling conflicts
- Interacts with multiple departments, nursing units, physicians and their offices, and families to ensure a seamless flow of patients into and through the department
- Assists in monitoring safety, infection control, and quality issues in daily operation of department
- Assists in developing/maintaining technique charts
- Assists Adm. Director with setting and implementing Department Goals
- Assists with fiscal management
- Complies with budgetary and fiscal goals
- Provides input for explanation of any staffing variances on monthly variance reports
