This Opportunity
The Strategic Projects Lead role supports senior advisors by managing key initiatives, fostering collaboration, and resolving program issues. This position is based in Vancouver, WA, and reports to the Program Chief of Staff.
- Project leadership and management: Responsible for leading strategic projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget, and managing resources effectively.
- Support and collaboration: Provides assistance to Senior Advisors on initiatives, advances issue resolution across the program, promotes team cohesion, and encourages interdisciplinary efforts within a collaborative work environment.
- Transportation expertise: Conducts transportation studies such as traffic impact analyses and environmental assessments, utilizes advanced modeling tools, engages stakeholders, prepares presentations and reports, and ensures compliance with regulations while integrating emerging trends.
Your Impact
- Lead strategic projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage resources effectively.
- Provide support to Senior Advisors to implement and/or support identified initiatives.
- Assist in the advancement and resolution of issues identified across the program.
- Support team cohesion and the advancement of interdisciplinary efforts.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Conduct and oversee transportation studies, including traffic impact analyses, feasibility studies, and environmental assessments.
- Utilize advanced modeling and simulation tools to analyze transportation systems and propose improvements.
- Engage with clients, government agencies, and community stakeholders to gather input and build consensus on project goals and outcomes.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, stakeholders, and the public.
- Develop long-range transportation plans and policies that align with regional and national goals.
- Identify emerging trends and technologies in transportation planning and integrate them into project strategies.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.
- Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and correspondence related to project activities.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in urban planning, Transportation Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience working in the transportation planning field, actively engaging in general plans, specific/master plans, zoning code updates, public involvement, and regulatory compliance for a variety of client projects relating to equitable transportation development and construction, transportation demand management, mobility planning, multimodal access, surface transportation, and funding.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Essential professional licensure/certification.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $99,100 - $176,550
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
