Description
Bard College Controller’s office seeks a full-time Accounting Clerk/Finance Assistant. The Accounting Clerk/Finance Assistant performs a variety of general accounting tasks and supports the day-to-day operations of the Controller’s Office.
Essential Duties
- Supports payroll processing and reporting
- Reviews and enters check requests
- Collects and interprets W-9 forms and sets up new vendors in system
- Enter and print weekly check run for Accounts Payable
- Assists purchasing with online/telephone orders, making and confirming hotel/conference reservations
- Reconciles bank statements
- Helps assist with annual audit
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven accounting experience, preferably as accounts receivable or account payable clerk
- Familiarity with tax laws, bookkeeping, and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Organization, accuracy, multitasking, and attention to detail is required
- Data entry and word processing skills preferred

Compensation: $24-$29/hour
This salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
