Job Summary: The staff accountant plays a vital role in supporting the finance and accounting functions of the organization. Responsible for various day-to-day accounting activities, this position assists in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The staff accountant works closely with other members of the finance team to contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Fixed Assets Management: Manage approval process with      Operations. Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals,      and depreciation calculations. Manage long-term construction projects.
  2. Inventory: Properly account for inventory. This includes ensuring that inventory is properly classified and valued and that inventory transactions are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles      (GAAP). Manage Physical Count.
  3. General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by recording financial transactions, preparing journal      entries, and reconciling accounts. Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
  4. Month-end and Year-end Close: Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing accruals, adjusting journal entries, and conducting financial analysis.
  5. Expense Management: Review and reconcile employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.      Assist in monitoring and controlling expenses.
  6. Internal Controls: Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  7. Ad Hoc Projects: Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, such as process improvements,      system implementations, or financial analysis.

Requirements

  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting,      Finance, or 3+ years of relevant work experience required.
  • Strong understanding of      accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel      and accounting software; experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or      Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong      analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and      interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team      environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and      manage multiple deadlines.
