Job Description

Ultra I&C is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-cycle accounting, a keen eye for process improvement, and the ability to support audits and financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties:

• Lead the month-end close process, including creating and recording journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring accurate revenue and expense recognition.

• Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of Deltek Costpoint, ensuring optimal system performance and accuracy.

• Produce and issue a monthly capex tracker report summarizing YTD and forecasted capital expenditures.

• Maintain the fixed asset database, including setup of new assets, disposal of assets, and recording monthly depreciation to the ledger.

• Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

• Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Payroll teammates

• Active with internal and external audits, such as workers’ compensation, tax filings, and associated documentation as required.

• Generate periodic reports detailing financial performance and expenditures.

• Collaborate with the VP of Finance on problem-solving, special projects, and financial analysis.

• Other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.

• 5+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting or related role.

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.

• Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• CPA certification preferred.

• Prior government contracting experience desired but not required.

• Prior experience in accounts payable and month-end close.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and take initiative.

• Excellent math skills and strong attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.

• Must be able to effectively present financial information and analysis to management and communicate with auditors.

• Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR in a business setting.

• Working knowledge of GAAP.
