Raytheon currently has an exciting systems administrator position available that supports the Raytheon mission of making the world a safer place. We are seeking an experienced Windows/Linux System Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The System Administrator must possess a secret security clearance as they will be responsible for administering systems that contain classified data.

The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Windows/Linux infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.

What You Will Do

  • Integrate multi-level security and insider threat mitigation technologies
  • Develop infrastructure and service management concept of operations
  • Develop and maintain automation capabilities to streamline and secure technical processes
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans
  • Plan for capacity and monitor performance and service availability
  • Administer backups and diagnose backup errors
  • Maintain strict access control to all networks and IT infrastructures
  • Partner with application/project/security teams and vendors to plan, design, and implement new IT infrastructure
  • Manage client agents for server monitoring as well as agents for server management
  • Proactively management of infrastructure to help maintain a healthy environment
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to 1st and 2nd level system administrators
  • Maintain infrastructure security standards for all systems & employ security hardening techniques
  • Create and maintain technical and detailed design documentation

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (Secret) is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • UNIX, Linux and/or Windows administration experience
  • Systems deployment, administration, performance tuning, and monitoring experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
  • DevOps experience
  • Cloud computing (AWS, Azure) experience
  • Experience with the following Microsoft technologies:
    • SCCM, KMS, MDT, and WSUS
    • Exchange and Lync
  • Windows desktops (Windows XP, 7, 10)
  • Familiarity with Splunk & Centrify products
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or other industry-recognized certifications relevant to a Windows System Administrator
  • Experience with Solaris 10
  • BASH Scripting
  • Familiar with Chef, Ansible, Puppet, CFEngine, etc
  • ITIL Foundations and/or ITIL Service Operations
