Position Number: 112940 Position Title (Classification Title):  Director 112940 Working Title:  Director, Facilities Project Management Job Summary: Oversight of university-wide facilities planning, design, and construction processes. This includes major capital projects and a full range of other projects occurring on the main campus, where at any given time there may be more than 100 active current projects. Provide oversight of projects occurring off the main campus, including newly acquired properties and leased space as well as non-UWF projects of the university’s direct support organization, Business Enterprises, Inc. Manage flooring replacement and wood floor maintenance from start to completion. Maintain a multi-year replacement plan for flooring and carpet replacement. Department Facilities Management FLSA: Exempt Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience. Position Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related field, AND
• Five or more years of progressively more responsible experience in facilities management, architectural planning and design work, experience with construction and renovation on a broad variety of building types, mechanical and electrical systems, and construction delivery methods with three or more years of supervisory experience, OR; a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position.
• Professional engineering or architect license in the State of Florida or a state with reciprocity. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field, and seven (7) or more years of progressively.
Experience with project management and estimating software. Essential Functions / Job Duties:

• 30% - Provide responsible oversight and coordination of facilities project planning, design, and construction for all current and planned projects, both major capital projects and a full range of other projects occurring on campus. Provide effective oversight of projects occurring off the main campus. Manage flooring replacement and wood and floor maintenance from start to completion. Maintain a multi-year replacement plan for flooring and carpet replacement. Effectively monitor private sector architectural and engineering design professional consulting firms, general contractors, design-build, or construction management companies that perform specific job orders continuous contract project work, or selected major capital projects to maintain contract administrative compliance. Closely monitor all assigned projects of those supervised for scope, schedule, and budget to keep projects on time and within budget. - (Essential)
• 20% - Aid and support the Executive Director by attending meetings, preparing documents and reports, developing plans, formulating budgets, and dealing with issues for the Executive Director. Oversee the programming, and preparation of scope statements and budgets for other fund sources as required. Examples include non-recurring federal stimulus programs, academic grants, public-private partnerships, and Capital Improvement Trust Fund (CITF) and departmental-funded projects. - (Essential)
• 20% - Develop the project budgets, review financial reports, and accounts for discrepancies between the budget and actual results to ensure allocations are within the budgeted funds. Ensure compliance with university business policies, including PCard usage. Develop and maintain excellent business relationships with city, county, regional, and state officials related to the department’s functions. Serve as the primary contact for the Escambia County Building Inspections/Permitting Office.
