What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The budgeted salary range for this position is $62,000 - $70,000. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:
- A guaranteed life-long monthly pension, once vested after 5 years of service

- 140 hours of PTO earned within first year + 11 paid holidays, 1 personal holiday and 1 volunteer day per year

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

If you answered "Yes" to the above questions, then you're the type of professional we need to be part of the Emergency Response Team (ERT). Denver Human Services is seeking a committed, passionate Social Case Worker to serve in the ERT Division of Child Welfare Services and can work the evening and overnight shifts. This Social Case Worker is loyal, willing to go above and beyond minimum expectations to keep children and youth safe, keep well organized and meticulous documentation, computer savvy, excellent communicator, and can thrive in a fast paced, unpredictable, and ever-changing environment.
ERT Social Case Worker responsibilities:
- Operation Hours 3:00pm-Midnight
- Serves as the initial point of contact for individuals making reports of abuse and/or neglect to the Department. Compiles comprehensive reports detailing reported abuse or neglect allegations of children from a wide variety of community members. ERT workers utilize critical thinking skills to determine if the information provided consists of an immediate safety threat
- Responds primarily to emergency situations involving children in high-risk situations which may result in out of home placement or ongoing intervention by the Department
- Works with families in crisis and helps coordinate crisis intervention services and deescalating potentially volatile situations
- Assessing for safety and investigating assessments involving child fatalities and egregious harm to children
- Support caseworkers with removals, assessment and case needs in the evening hours
- Partnerships with Denver Police Department, Denver Health and other medical facilities
