About the role

Description

The Division of the Arts and Humanities at the University of Chicago invites applications for part-time Lecturers to teach courses in the Committee on Theater and Performance Studies. 

 

The selected candidate will have part-time teaching opportunities in the theater and performance studies program. Responsibilities include preparing and teaching craft seminars or workshop-style classes, holding regularly scheduled office hours, and the preparation and grading of assignments, inclusive of providing written feedback on student work. Depending on the curricular needs of the department, the successful candidate may teach between one and four courses per academic year.

The terms and conditions of employment for this position are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the University and Service Employees International Union. The per-course salary for academic year 2025-26 will be at least $8,883. This position is not benefits eligible.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Theater or a related discipline. Applicants must have a minimum of three years of professional theater experience.
