Tava Health is a venture-backed telemedicine startup that partners with employers to provide convenient, high-quality mental health care to employees and their families. At a little more than three years old, Tava has already partnered with dozens of forward-thinking employers and recently announced a $10M Series A.
In these three years of business, we have grown tremendously both in reach and vision. It is our intention in this new year to continue this growth for the sake of impacting clinicians, clients, and our employer partners for the better. This pursuit has led to the search for a Clinical Operations Director who will help us accomplish these aims.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee our therapist network
- Supervise and scale recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, and retention of clinicians
- Ensure clients and therapists both receive efficient, quality support as measured by defined success metrics
- Collaboratively shape and execute the strategic clinical operations roadmap
- Partner closely with leadership by providing clinical expertise in helping define, revise, prioritize, and execute strategic clinical initiatives
- Stay apprised of state laws/regulations and adjust clinical strategy accordingly
- Develop and enforce appropriate clinical standards, including policies and procedures to ensure quality therapy and engagement at scale
- Manage and take ultimate responsibility for clinical quality/performance (including client retention), and lead research, development, and implementation of scalable efforts to improve it
- Provide cross-functional clinical leadership to the following teams and committees:
- Payer Relations to implement insurance strategy
- Product to provide clinical guidance on priorities, including elevating needs/insights from the clinical operations team, clients, and therapists
- Marketing to develop clinical content and strategy around client and therapist engagement
- Design to ensure the application is clinically sound and meets therapists’ and clients’ needs
- Sales to improve deal win rate
- Credentialing Committee to ensure credentialing is implemented to attract and retain providers
- Quality Committee to ensure the network maintains, improves, and measures clinical quality
- Represent Tava externally as a clinical thought leader
- Oversee efforts to develop and deliver mental health webinars and training
- Provide guidance and support for worksite critical incidents, disruptive events, and sensitive employee issues
- Participate in meetings with current and prospective customers/payers when invited
- Be active in the broader therapist community (e.g., through behavioral health network associations) and stay up-to-date on trends in the field
- Maintain 3 - 4 hours of clinical availability each week on Tava’s platform
Our Ideal Candidate Must:
- Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and a deep desire to improve mental health care
- Communicate effectively in both writing and speaking
- Be comfortable with ambiguity and a rapidly evolving, high-growth startup environment
- Have proven organizational skills, the ability to prioritize effectively and work independently
- Welcome constructive feedback and be adept at delivering it to team members
- Possess a dual clinical and entrepreneurial mindset
Qualifications:
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Marriage Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field
- At least 2 years of managerial experience in an outpatient healthcare organization (a background in managing remote employees is a bonus)
- Several years of independently licensed clinical psychotherapy experience, and current licensure in one or more states
- Experience running a private practice would be helpful, but not required
- A minimum of 2 years working directly with insurers
