Job Description:
This job is responsible for performing strategic analysis to understand portfolio risk, increase profitability, and optimize operational performance. Key responsibilities include determining strategic priorities for the team, identifying trends, and leading efforts to maximize risk versus return for the business unit. Job expectations include using data and analytics to solve complex problems, coaching and developing employees, and partnering across technology, product, and risk leadership to drive performance.

This role will support the Small Business Card product, providing analysis to help identify growth opportunity, particularly within pricing and credit. There will also be responsibility to manage and maintain controls for pricing. The role will have a blend of strategic analysis, control management and project leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs complex analysis of financial models, market data, financial data, and portfolio trends to understand product performance and improve portfolio risk, profitability, performance forecasting, and operational performance
  • Supports department-wide strategies and portfolio trend analysis, forecasting, and risk/control performance
  • Leads innovation by identifying and championing large scaleinitiativesthat improve the risk management, profitability, and control oversight of risks for the business unit
  • Identifies business trends based on economic and portfolio conditions and communicates findings to senior management
  • Coaches employees on best practices for structuring complex problems, performing analysis, and communicating the results and implications of their work
  • Maintains strategic relationships with peers and counterparts across product, technology, and business control functions
  • Develop and maintain controls to ensure SB card pricing is functioning as intended and clients are receiving appropriate treatment
  • Identify opportunities to drive revenue and balance growth in both pricing and credit
  • Lead workgroups to drive implementation of identified opportunities
  • Perform strategic data analysis of card performance

Required Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency with SAS/SQL
  • Strong analytic skillset including ability to assess data sets, develop reporting, and perform detailed analysis.
  • Ability to translate data analysis into business needs and leverage it to drive business outcomes.
  • Experience developing and managing controls
  • Experience developing and implementing business strategies
  • Experience leading project workgroups
  • Ability to act independently, taking general direction and identifying the specific steps or analysis required to complete the goal.
  • Experience working with pricing and/or credit strategies
  • Ability to communicate effectively with partners
