Supervises Chevron employees in the safe, reliable, and cost-effective planning, scheduling, and execution of routine maintenance scope at the shops. Accountable to lead and safely deliver business plans for the boiler shop, machine shop, analyzer/instrument shop, MVG, and central tool room. Provides periodic performance evaluation and feedback for supervised employees. Collaborates with Operations, Reliability, Integrity, and Technical to deliver results. Leads competitive performance initiatives to drive measurable improvements at the shops. Works closely with the General Team Leads and the Maintenance Personnel Coordinator to optimize resources utilization. Ensures all work permitting processes are followed and all applicable safeguards are in place. Stewards employee adherence to rules, standards, procedures, governmental requirements, and Company policies. Ensures that maintenance expenditures and staffing are directed at maximizing availability, while minimizing costs, consistent with long-term sustainable and reliable operations. Stewards effective application of FIRM 11000 for routine maintenance (RM).

Key member of the RM Leadership Team and RM Steering Team developing strategic direction and accountable to lead change initiatives. Accountable to develop and grow personnel within the shops to ensure broader M&R organizational demands are met and in alignment with employee’s development plans. Key member of the RM PDC to manage strategic staffing across routine maintenance.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Supervises Chevron employees in the safe, reliable, and cost-effective planning, scheduling, or execution of maintenance scope.

  • Accountable to lead and safely deliver business plans for the boiler shop, machine shop, analyzer/instrument shop, MVG, and central tool room.

  • Provides periodic performance evaluation and feedback for supervised employees.

  • Collaborates with Operations, Reliability, Integrity, and Technical to address refinery needs.

  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Works closely with the Planning Team Lead and the Maintenance Personnel Coordinator to optimize resources utilization.

  • Ensures all work permitting processes are followed an all applicable safeguards are in place.

  • Stewards employee adherence to rules, standards, procedures, governmental requirements, and Company policies.

  • Manages the safety and specialty training requirements for assigned mechanics.

  • Issues incident reports, leads incident investigations, and stewards the completion of resulting action items.

  • Manages total asset care for the shops ensuring that maintenance expenditures and staffing are directed at maximizing availability, while minimizing costs, consistent with long-term sustainable and reliable operations. Stewards effective application of FIRM 11000 for routine maintenance (RM).

  • Accountable to lead and support the reactive maintenance, preventative maintenance and reliability programs to the agreed upon Key Performance indicators to ensure the refinery business plan is achieved.

  • Accountable to partner effectively to achieve these outcomes in a sustainable way.

  • Supports division maintenance and reliability requirements in partnership with operations and technical.

  • Develops strategies for resources to support refinery needs in order to meet requirements of Routine Maintenance activities.

  • Leads shop routine maintenance activities in strong partnership with Section Heads.

  • Develops proposed annual budget based on operating requirements and key activities across the year.

  • Sets expectations for company and contract management of safe work requirements.

  • Fosters an atmosphere of care and concern. Ensures line M&R management is accountable for safety performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Quantified maintenance experience 10+ years

  • Previous shop experience
