Opportunity Overview

 

Are you an experienced engineering manager with a passion for complex instrument development and product delivery? Do you want to join a global leader in electronics testing and innovation? If so, Teradyne is looking for you!

Teradyne has a team focused on Wide Bandgap (WBG) Device Testing – The Power Semiconductor Team of Teradyne’s Semiconductor Test Division.  As an engineering manager on the Power Semi team, you will lead cross function instrument design teams comprised of hardware, mechanical, software, and manufacturing disciplines to design high quality, state of the art test and measurement instruments. You will be responsible for planning and executing the development portion of multiple concurrent instrument projects, from concept through production release.

You will also mentor and retain engineering staff, participate in cross-functional teams to develop architectures, systems designs, and specifications for new products, and ensure that products are meeting requirements and are delivered on schedule.

All About You

  • Planning and executing the hardware development portion of multiple concurrent instrument projects, from concept through production release (developing plans, schedules, and staffing assignments)
  • Communicating progress at appropriate levels of abstraction
  • Participating in cross-functional teams to develop architectures, systems design, and specifications for new products
  • Customer facing engagement with customers for your responsible instrument projects ensuring alignment
  • Ensuring that products are meeting requirements and are delivered on schedule
  • Functional management of a team of DC/Power hardware product design engineers
  • Hiring, mentoring, and retaining engineering staff

 

Qualifications:

  • BSEE required
  • 5+ years of experience as a project leader for the development of DC/Power instrumentation
  • 10+ years of experience in hand-on design and development of instrumentation
  • Proven track record of delivering complex designs to manufacturing and product availability, with end to end development cycle ownership
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of board level (PCB) based products involving multiple engineering disciplines
  • Experience in technical oversight of vendors and contractors in addition to permanent staff
  • Strong project management skills, PMP certification a plus
  • Strong people and team management skills, with direct exper
