About the role
The Part-Time Admissions Communications Specialist supports the college’s student recruitment and onboarding efforts by creating and managing communications for prospective and newly admitted students. Using the Target X CRM and other digital tools, this position develops clear, engaging, and timely messaging that helps students navigate each step of the enrollment and onboarding process.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with developing and executing marketing and communication strategies that support recruitment efforts and advance institutional enrollment goals.
- Collaborate with the Associate Dean and Director to plan, manage, and optimize communications for events, admission decisions, deadlines, outreach emails, and related campaigns within TargetX.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of TargetX Campaigns and the Communication Planner to ensure accurate setup and an efficient communication workflow.
- Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining content for selective programs and admissions web pages, as well as associated print and digital materials, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with brand standards.
- Work closely with the Integrated Marketing & Communications team and key campus departments to coordinate messaging and promote admissions-related communications, events, and initiatives.
- Work on related projects in TargetX, such as building our communication planner, drip campaigns, and portals module.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience involving college admissions, academic advisement and/or career development.
- Experience in using a CRM, student information systems and technology as well as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptable to changing circumstances and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Proven ability to work with diverse, staff, student population and faculty.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of cultural competency.
- Able to communicate effectively to different audiences.
- Position is telework-eligible; candidates must be available to work on campus on a rotating schedule as needed.
- Ability to work Saturdays during peak registration periods (August & September and January).
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience using live chat software.
- Experience working in a community college preferably in Admissions or Enrollment.
- Written and spoken proficiency in more than one language.
