About the role

Citi is looking for a Global Commercial Cards Payables Product Lead to shape and accelerate the B2B Payables strategy across one of the most strategically significant product verticals in Citi's Commercial Cards business. Based in New York City and reporting to the Global Payables Segment Head, this role carries direct accountability for commercializing Citi's Integrated Payables proposition — spanning Commercial Cards, Domestic Payments, and Trade Finance — across a global client base. This is a high-impact, high-visibility opportunity designed for a senior product leader ready to take ownership of a growing business and build toward broader portfolio leadership within Citi Payments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, positioning, and commercialization agenda for Citi's B2B Payables business, with accountability for growth across Commercial Cards, Integrated Payables, and adjacent supplier payment capabilities.
  • Engage senior client stakeholders — including Treasury, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Shared Services leaders — to surface payment modernization opportunities and translate them into tangible outcomes using Citi's B2B Payables solutions.
  • Develop executive-level value propositions, commercialization strategies, and sales enablement materials that articulate the business case for Citi's B2B Payables offering clearly and compellingly.
  • Influence multi-year product roadmaps and future solution development by synthesizing client feedback, competitive intelligence, and market insights into actionable priorities.
  • Drive alignment across Commercial Cards, Trade, Sales, Operations, Technology, and regional teams to advance Citi's Integrated Payables vision and ensure coordinated go-to-market execution.
  • Manage Citi's strategic relationships with payment networks, including Mastercard and Visa, to unlock collaboration opportunities and accelerate global product innovation.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, AP and procurement market developments, and competitive activity to identify opportunities that strengthen Citi's market position and inform future growth decisions.
  • Evaluate product investments in partnership with Finance, track revenue and expenditure performance, and ensure new capabilities are launched with full operational and compliance readiness across all relevant teams.

Required qualifications & skills

  • Ten or more years of experience in Commercial Cards, B2B Payments, Trade and Working Capital Solutions, AP Automation, or Procurement Technology, with a record of leading large-scale commercialization efforts and delivering measurable revenue growth.
  • Deep knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, Procurement workflows, Supplier Enablement, and Payments digitization, with hands-on experience commercializing complex payment solutions in large corporate environments.
  • Ability to develop and execute multi-year product roadmaps and cross-product strategies, including managing strategic partnerships, cross-business ventures, and platform integrations.
  • Credibility engaging at the executive level with Procurement, Treasury, and Accounts Payable leaders to drive strategic product adoption and deliver measurable client outcomes.
  • Advanced storytelling, presentation, and written communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead through complex, matrixed global organizations.
  • Self-directed and results-oriented, with a clear ownership mindset and the ability to operate with autonomy and confidence in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Bachelor's degree required, with cultural agility and the flexibility to collaborate across geographies and time zones; willingness to travel as required by the role.

Beneficial skills & qualifications

  • Master's or advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional certifications in Product or Project Management, including PMP, Prince2, CSPO, or SAFe.
  • Experience in cash management or electronic banking channels within a large corporate banking environment, combined with exposure to business analysis, data analysis, or systems analysis.
