BASIC FUNCTION:

Develop and implement graduate recruitment, retention, and admission tracking of Graduate Students. Directly works with Director for Student Services and Academic Records Coordinator in the areas of recruiting; admissions; orientation; registration; academic advising; graduation; and program management. Develop technology solutions for automating and streamlining graduate office practices. Assist in preparation and submission of various university reports and external surveys as requested (e. (e.g., Graduate Student Exit Survey; NIH-NSF Graduate Survey, and other assessment surveys pertaining to retention, recruitment, and admissions). Develop and implement database applications, spreadsheets, document templates and other technology solutions to automate and streamline office tasks.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Assists in developing, directing, and monitoring graduate student recruitment plans in collaboration with relevant coordinators, directors, and degree program chairs; presents and recruits at local and national recruitment conferences.

Interfaces with vendors of automated graduate student admissions and tracking software and systems regularly; keeps pace with best practices in recruitment, admissions, and retention; and attends national conferences and symposia related to the position.

Maintains communication and works closely with Associate Dean(s) and chairs and/or directors of graduate programs on admissions targets and decisions, retention efforts, and financial support targets.

Serves as resource for and liaison between graduate admissions, enrollment management, and alumni.

Implements strategies, plans, and initiatives related to recruitment, admissions, and retention, along with financial services--in collaboration with the Associate Dean(s); analyzes trends and prepares reports (or data for reports) pertaining to local and national admissions, enrollment, and retention data.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assists Director of Student Affairs and Recruitment committee on identifying recruitment opportunities
  • Provides timely responses to inquiries and requests related to applying to the School of Divinity
  • Plans and conducts Open House events and Information sessions for prospective students.
  • Manages the application and distribution process.  Works closely with Curriculum Committee and faculty advisers.
  • Provides clerical assistance for Director of Student Affairs
  • Identifies potential scholarship recipients from the admitted student pool.  Corresponds with applicants concerning aid eligibility, cost of education, and Federal financial aid options.
  • Serves as a school ambassador and alumni liaison.
