The Cook is responsible for preparing food items over hot equipment and maintaining kitchen organization and cleanliness according to the specifications provided by management. This position focuses on delighting the customer by preparing food in a timely manner and ensuring quality product.

Castle Park - Food & Beverage Cook
Roles & Responsibilities:
Rate: $17.50/hr
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prepare workstations with supplies, food, and condiments
- Focus on delivering exceptional food quality for all meals prepared
- Prepare proper quantities of food according to department standards and guest needs
- Inspect and clean all food preparation areas
- Strictly abide by standards set forth by ServSafe, state and local regulations, company policy, and other food regulatory standards that may apply at Castle park
- Become knowledgeable of all food products and ingredients used
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using various kitchen utensils and equipment; season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment
- Assist with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, and slicing, fruits and vegetables
- Utilize ovens, fryers, broilers, griddles, mixers, and knives to prepare food (age restrictions may apply)
- Carefully follow recipes and procedures while preparing all food dishes
- Ensure food and ingredients are being properly stored at the correct temperatures
- Ensure hygienic practices, policies, and procedures are being followed at all times
- Plate the prepared food appropriately
- Pre-portion individual packaging sauces, sandwiches, salads, and other items
- Label and track life of stored food to ensure suitable food safety and quality
- Rotate food items out of storage by using the newly prepped items last
- Escalate safety, hygienic, or maintenance issues to the proper authorities in a timely manner
- Assist with managing kitchen inventory and replenishing food items that were used
- Keep kitchen space neat and clean to meet company and legal standards
- Communicate with the kitchen staff to ensure a high level of safety and efficiency
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Ensure that all work areas, food, and equipment/utensils used are cleaned, stowed, and secured in preparation for the next day's work, in accordance with state and local sanitation protocols
- All other duties assigned by leadership
Education & Experience:
- No education requirement for this position
- Culinary arts education is a plus, but not required
- 1 year of previous experience as a check, cook, or another culinary-related role is highly desired, but not required
- Must be Food Handler Safety Certified (ServSafe or similar) or become so within 30 days of hire, when required by state and local guidelines
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift
- Ability to comply with all uniform policies
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Must possess a safety-oriented mindset and understand the importance
