Total Rewards Center of Excellence (COE) in Johnson Controls is organized through Total Rewards Business Partners, Specialty Areas, and Programs and Process Solutions. The value of our COE lies in company vision and strategy linked to the business, the in-depth expertise, operational excellence, and partnership and consultation with our businesses. We work together to research, design, analyze, operationalize, and communicate Total Rewards programs and solutions that tie to business strategy and support business goals.

What you will do:

  • Provide analytical and project support in the design, development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of Executive Compensation policies, programs and processes globally.

  • Lead/deliver project partnering with Human Resources Business Partners, Specialty Areas, Total Rewards Business Partners and the Total Rewards COE

  • Identify the most effective way to communicate “the message” and “impact the audience”

  • Continuously monitor the environment to identify opportunities for improvement and measure results

  • Optimize our service delivery model through the continuous evaluation of work product, and utilization of automation tools and processes

  • Consistently deliver data-driven, high quality and timely results

You will work on moderate to complex projects with minimal direct supervision, identify gaps and deficiencies in processes, and recommend adjustments and improvements. You will use your exceptional analytical ability, accuracy, and attention to detail as well as ability to prioritize your work to achieve objectives. This role will provide valuable, data-driven insights to improve the efficiency, engagement, and effective delivery of our executive compensation programs and processes.

How you will do it:

  • Participate in the assessment, design, and development of existing and new executive compensation programs to ensure market competitiveness, program effectiveness, and legal and regulatory compliance.

  • Conduct executive job grading, market analyses and compensation benchmarking to maintain competitive and equitable compensation practices.

  • Support internal and external executive-level compensation offers, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.

  • Collaborate with the COE on executive-level market surveys and submission of executive compensation data.

  • Support the preparation of the Compensation Committee materials, regulatory filings, and any other executive compensation disclosures.

  • Assist with the administration of long-term incentive (LTI) programs and processes, including performance pay planning, the annual grant and vest processes, maintenance and interpretation of LTI documentation, participant communications and questions, etc.

  • Manage the day-to-day administration of Executive Compensation programs, including administering the Board of Directors compensation program.

  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring consistent responses to HR and employee queries submitted through mailboxes and communication platforms.

  • Use various data analytics and automation tools to build and maintain dashboards, reports and processes to support Executive Compensation programs.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including legal, tax, and finance to evaluate and ensure cost and tax efficiency of compensation programs, and ensure compliance with regulations and reporting requirements
