About the Role Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their team in Santa Monica. This position is perfect for an accounting professional with nonprofit experience who is looking to contribute their skills to an organization making a difference in the community. The Staff Accountant will support the finance function by maintaining accurate records, assisting with grant reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations.Prepare and process accounts payable and receivable transactions.Assist with grant reporting, tracking expenditures, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.Prepare journal entries, financial statements, and audit schedules.Collaborate with program managers to provide financial insight and support.Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting best practices.
Qualifications of the Staff Accountant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Minimum 2 years of nonprofit accounting experience required.Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
