About the Role
We are seeking a visionary and results-oriented Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide full operational oversight for our organization. The COO will play a critical role in developing and executing operational strategy to drive the growth and success of our company. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, particularly in healthcare operations, and a proven track record of successfully managing clinical teams, contact centers, and scaling operations in a fast paced start-up environment. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, adept at driving operational efficiencies, fostering organic growth, and cultivating a high-performing leadership team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operational Strategy: Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's overall mission and goals, with a specific focus on reducing payer MSK spend and improving patient outcomes.
- Market Operations: Oversee all aspects of market operations and execution of market expansion plans.
- Patient Engagement: Ownership of patient engagement, developing and implementing strategies to enhance patient experience, satisfaction, and engagement throughout the entire care journey.
- Clinical Operations: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the clinical operations team, ensuring high-quality and efficient delivery of care services.
- Centralized Operations: Streamline and optimize centralized operations, including administrative functions, technology infrastructure, and data management, to support organizational growth and scalability.
- Implementation: Responsible for leading and executing the implementation of new markets, customers, and partnerships. Will work closely with client success to ensure our partners achieve their desired outcomes. (future state)
- Financial Management: Collaborate with the finance team to manage and optimize financial performance, ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals and objectives. Monitor key financial metrics and take proactive measures to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication among various departments to ensure seamless coordination and integration of operations.
- Performance Management: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and evaluate operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans accordingly.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, and industry standards, while proactively identifying and mitigating operational risks.
- Alongside the Growth team, support client initiatives by ensuring clients achieve their desired outcomes and maximize the value of our products and services.
- Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing operations team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive individual and collective success.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and industry partners, to improve operational effectiveness and enable customer success.
- Culture Advocacy: Champion our organizational culture, ensuring all operational decisions, growth strategies, and leadership methods resonate with and reinforce our core values and mission.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, master's preferred
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, clinical operations oversight, and operational performance management.
- Deep people management experience, specifically leading high performing clinical teams in distributed workforce environments.
- Proven track record of successful leadership and management in a start-up or fast-paced environment.
