Job Description Summary

The Program Leader – Advanced Applications Engineering will report directly to the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) Chief Engineer and will provide leadership for advanced technology development and technical risk mitigation strategies for the organization and business. The position will be responsible for providing support to advanced applications and new business development opportunities in the areas of New Product Introduction (NPI), New Technology Introduction (NTI), Gen. IV fuels and advanced reactor opportunities, Next Gen. BWRX-300, business-wide technology planning process called Session T, university partnerships, business development activities and collaboration with GEV Advanced Research Center (ARC). This key role will work collaboratively with both internal and external partner organizations to successfully develop new technologies for the installed base as well as the advanced nuclear business.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Chief Engineer for the GVH business
  • Provide technology risk mitigation strategies for new and current business development opportunities
  • Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with other internal engineering team managers, business leaders, project managers and stakeholders
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for all NPI/NTI related activities for GVH and the Chief Engineers Office
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for university and research organization partnerships and collaboration.
  • Coordinate Session T activities between GVH and the GE Vernova Advanced Research Centers (ARC)
  • Work closely with product management team for development of new business opportunities in areas related to advanced reactor, fuels, materials, energy conversion systems and product development
  • Provide leadership supporting performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time fulfillment of engineering commitments in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, industry standards and regulatory agency guidelines
  • Provide guidance and manage external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions
  • Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GVH
  • Support GEV initiatives, process improvement, simplification and design to cost 
  • Support GVH Nuclear Energy quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating and responding to Corrective Actions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline or similar
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or technology development leadership experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent technology-based energy or infrastructure applications

  • Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change mgmt)
  • Knowledge of US-NRC licensing requirements
  • Understanding of nuclear industry and technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business

The base pay range for this position is $131,700-175,500. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 11/13/2025.
