Be a member of a team of technical champions associated with compressor station operations! Creating custom control systems and troubleshooting emergent issues at compressor stations are some of the responsibilities you will have as an Electrical Controls Technical Advisor. What you will do:

• Provide expert compressor station related technical support and direction to field electrical/controls technicians.

• Resolve day-to-day O&M issues by actively participating in the troubleshooting of systems and equipment.

• Monitor field maintenance practices to ensure safe and reliable operation of compressor station facilities in compliance with applicable industry codes and standards and company Standard Operating Procedures.

• Provide training for field electrical controls technicians and monitors progress in the company Employee Qualification and Operator Qualification Programs. 

• Assist in the process of design review thru commissioning and follow-up monitoring of compression related projects.

• Assist in specifying, installing and/or evaluating new equipment at field locations.

Who you are:

You have the following education and/or experience:

• Related university degree and four‐plus years’ experience OR six‐plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.

• PLC experience in gas transmission or distribution required.

• This position requires a person with a solid technical background and knowledge in natural gas industry, instrumentation and control equipment and practices.

Include but are not limited to: Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying ( up to 25 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement, grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
