About the role

JOB SUMMARY

Provides overarching marketing leadership and discipline support to participating hotels for a specific market. Leader is responsible for driving market trends through individual property plans and budgets, verifies strategies are aligned to market strategy and pushing brand priorities. Provides leadership and direction to property-based marketing associates for hotels within a specific market/geographical area to verify alignment with regional priorities and overall marketing strategies. Responsible for supporting day-to-day leadership for Property Marketing Teams to successfully execute strategies and adjust marketing plans as needed. Leader provides guidance on marketing plans and budgets to property-based marketing managers and hotel leadership, participation and implementation of destination co-op campaigns, pull-through of brand priorities across the market, management and activation of local partnerships including Convention and Visitors Bureaus/Destination Marketing Organizations (CVBs/DMO). Partners closely with other topline disciplines (Sales and Revenue Management) to develop overarching cross-cutting strategies. Accountable for achieving marketing goals and overall financial performance (e.g., Digital Direct Room Night Mix Shift, F&B Revenue) of hotels within their purview. Partners closely with Sales and Revenue Management to develop and execute communication, ancillary revenue generating activities, and understand market/hotel needs to achieve revenue goals.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required:

• High school diploma or GED; 4 years’ experience in the sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area.

OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years’ experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Marketing Activities

• Verifies marketing strategies and programs are in alignment with the overall market goals by activating area and global strategies at the hotel level and leveraging cutting edge marketing technologies, trends, and best practices across all participating hotels.

• Gains understanding of the market’s primary target customer to generate better business solutions.

• Evaluates market and economic trends and introduces appropriate changes in marketing strategies to generate increased revenue and establish competitive position in the market for each property.

• Identifies incremental marketing opportunities ranging from partnerships, third-party sites and CVBs on behalf of all participating hotels within portfolio.

• Focuses on building each property’s top line revenue by verifying hotels across market are aligned through marketing and digital programs and channels to deliver results.

• Understands and accurately represents individual property needs.

• Maintains successful performance by developing a comprehensive marketing strategy across participating hotels that utilizes on-property and above property channels to deliver results, controlling expenses and providing a return on investment for the owner and Marriott International.

• Monitors and incorporates marketing and digital strategies and partners with Area Director of Marketing to verify that their hotels attain and grow topline objectives.

• Monitors execution of and partners closely with hotel marketing teams to integrate brand-appropriate pull through of corporate marketing & digital strategies, programs, processes, experiences and initiatives for the benefit of individual hotels to positively influence customer behavior.

• Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.

Reporting and Stakeholder Relationships

• Leverages analytics and monitor dashboards to optimize ROI across channels.

• Analyzes, reports, and tracks global site performance and e-marketing activities for portfolio of participating hotels.

• Runs, reviews, analyzes and clearly articulates to stakeholder’s and owners the key marketing reports with the ability to quickly adapt and adjust strategy accordingly.

• Develops and manages internal key stakeholder relationships.

• Partners with Marriot Digital Services (MDS) and other vendors providing services to participating hotels, verifying cost-effective pricing models and delivery of services that meet the hotel business objectives.
