Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries in Essex Junction, VT is seeking a Senior Facilities Water Engineer reporting to Dustin Nuhfer. This candidate will provide technical leadership to operate, maintain, and enhance potable water and ultrapure water purification and distribution equipment including reverse osmosis, ion exchange, degasification, and various filtration systems. As a Facilities Water Engineer your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: manufacturing customer interface, process monitoring, process improvement initiatives, manufacturing process support, troubleshooting support, system documentation, capacity monitoring, system modification (performance analysis, engineering principle application for safe and reliable design/start up and cost), and operations training and documentation support. This will be a 5/2 schedule (M-F; 7AM - 4PM), with some on call coverage and responsiveness to off-shift issues, based on the needs of the business.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop expense and capital budget plans for equipment.
- Manage projects and deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement within the system operations.
- Provide day to day support of operational and maintenance issues on site.
- Set direction on how to continually improve the quality and lower the cost of the operation.
- Perform detailed analysis of utility systems operations.
- Analyze and interpret quality data.
- Determine necessary actions to maintain processes in control.
- Work with the SPC and PI software, setting control limits, identifying and troubleshooting issues.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to screen and optimize equipment to meet technology and manufacturing needs.
- Responsible for monitoring current system demands and capacity concerns. Provide strategical Capital planning.
- Lead team to create & modify maintenance and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Implement processes & procedures to improve and standardize work across the team & site.
- Understand and improve design drawings (P&IDs) for new equipment and components.
- Must be mechanically inclined and able to lead hands on, tactical troubleshooting efforts to resolve system performance issues; must be able to deconstruct and understand complex systems.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
- Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- Education - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited engineering program.
- Experience - 3 years in water purification or related manufacturing environment.
- Fluency in English Language – both written & verbal communication.
- Physical Capacity Demands – ability to lift 30 lbs and wearing cleanroom suit / personal protective equipment, as needed.
- Ability to be on your feet for up to 8 hours at a time, and to climb up / down ladders, and enter confined spaces.
- Attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated; able to take ownership of assignments, develop work plans and proactively seek feedback to ensure objectives are aligned and met.
- Team player; able to succeed in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- Ability to support continuous manufacturing operations during “off hours” as required.
- Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Chemical engineering degree
- 4+ years ultrapure water experience or industry experience.
Expected Salary Range
$57,700.00 - $133,100.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
