We are looking for a top-notch Transfer Pricing Economist Manager, to join Palo Alto Networks’ Tax team and take a lead for transfer pricing compliance, reporting, process automation and provide support for tax planning initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, strategic and creative thinker, great communicator, and enjoys collaborating with cross functional teams, comfortable working with a diverse set of talented and high performing colleagues in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
This position can be based in Santa Clara, Plano Texas, London, Amsterdam, or Bangalore. It reports to the Senior Manager International Tax based in Santa Clara, and will continuously closely collaborate with the worldwide tax team. The Transfer Pricing Economist Manager will have in-depth expertise in transfer pricing rules and requirements, demonstrate knowledge of relevant tax rules and related application of economic analysis, and will monitor tax law and economic developments globally.
The International Tax team at PANW is a tight knit group working to set up tax processes, frameworks and systems to help the business ride the next wave of rapid growth. We focus on ensuring compliance across geographies, reporting standards are met, and plan for audits to attain our intended tax outcomes. Your Impact
Working together with the Senior Manager International Tax you will be in charge of Palo Alto Networks Transfer Pricing including optimizing and maintaining Palo Alto Networks positions. You will be responsible for performing, monitoring, maintaining and continuously improving our compliance and support model including with respect to:
- Transfer Pricing Compliance cycle - Maintain our global tax calendar, coordinate internally and with outside service providers regarding filing obligations and due dates to ensure accurate and timely preparation and filing of TP reports and related mandatory disclosures to ensure full compliance, administration and reporting, monitor regulatory requirements and deadlines
- Financial Reporting - Review of the financial statements for transfer pricing analysis, support company’s structure including monitoring governance and execution of transfer pricing policies, compliance and reporting
- Intra company developments - Consulting, partnering with cross-functional teams (legal, finance, treasury, accounting, etc.) to support the business needs and additionally with external advisors on transfer pricing projects, assist in M&A and post-transaction integration activities and business restructuring projects
- Company growth - Support global expansion, assist with tax research of local country transfer pricing requirements, analysis and consequences of expansion to new jurisdictions, business models, transactions, design and execution - Prepare technical documentation and assist on special transfer pricing projects
- Innovations - Proactively identify issues, develop strategies, and drive implementation of solutions - research, interpret and evaluate the impact of proposed transfer pricing legislation on company transactions to ensure compliance - contribute to the design and implementation of automated tools to drive efficiency/process improvements
