The position of an Outside Sales Associate will be based out of our Fort Myers, FL Location!
Summary
The Outside Sales Associate is responsible for completing the Sales orientation program that covers all aspects of the business within a comprehensive and progressive timeframe. This includes learning the company products and services, gaining familiarity with branch operations, and generating profitable sales through creating, building, and maintaining high quality relationships with new and existing customers.
What You’ll Do
- Complete the Sales orientation program with emphasis in the areas of product knowledge, customer service, outside sales and marketing support
- Travel on sales calls and shadows sales professionals
- Answer customer inquiries regarding product needs and processing orders, generates quotes and prices, gives delivery specifications and payment terms, and offers substitute products where appropriate
- Build and maintain customer relationships and provide excellent customer service, be responsive to requests for information and establish priorities for processing transactions to support outside sales
- Prospect new and existing customers. Increase business by generating sales to new customers and by selling additional products to existing customers
- Learn and ensure completion of operational documents and reports such as counter sales reports, shipping documents, tickets, price sheets and catalogues. Learns and becomes proficient in the computer tools and systems used in day-to-day operations
- Gather marketing information regarding customers, competitors and pricing and implements sales strategies set forth by senior management
- Actively participate in professional development to improve professional selling skills and maintain technical capabilities. Participate in company training/development, special promotions, sales meetings, supplier seminars and training schools to enhance and maintain personal and product knowledge
- Get involved in communicating technical information to customers and co-workers
- Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need
- High School or GED
- 1+ years of customer service, sales, or related electrical industry experience
- Valid Driver’s License

- Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers and to be sensitive to their needs
- Customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to drive decisions with influence
- Highly self-motivated
- Familiar with Microsoft Office as well as relevant ERP systems and Customer Relation Management Tools (CRM)
- Able to work overtime as needed
