The Work You Will Do:

Highway Maintenance Technician II - District Three / Marianna Maintenance

 

This position, upon receipt of the required CDL Instructional permit or license, will operate vehicles and mechanized equipment.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Upon receipt of the required CDL Instructional permit or license; operates a variety of vehicles and mechanized equipment to include backhoe, tractors with attachments, crew cabs, and dump truck. Performs pre-trip inspection/minor maintenance on vehicles/equipment that they are operating. Cleans and washes equipment. Supervises Department of Corrections inmates crew performing maintenance activities.

 

Uses a variety of hand, pneumatic, and electrical tools to maintain bridges and roadways. Performs independent manual labor incidental to job assignments at an intermediate level of complexity with minimal supervision.

 

Performs rough carpentry, masonry, painting and/or assist in the assembly and erection of highway signs.

 

Performs Temporary Traffic Control (Maintenance of Traffic).
